Take a walk on the Giant Side and support the National Heritage Trust in association with Flahavan's in a sponsored walk to raise funds for the Giant's Causeway and Causeway World Heritage Centre.
The National Trust is leading the project to build new visitor facilities at the Giant's Causeway. The new facilities will improve the experience of visiting the Giant's Causeway, provide new opportunities for people to learn about the heritage of the area and participate in our conservation work. The conservation charity is appealing to members, supporters and the local community to join in on ‘A Giant Walk' on Saturday 24 October 2009 and help Finn McCool put a giant foot forward for the Giant's Causeway. Are you in with Finn?
There are a series of 3 walks planned for the day, all beginning with a hearty bowl of Flahavan's porridge. The walks to choose from include a 2 mile ‘Giant mini steps walk' for mums, dads and wee small giants, a 6 mile ‘Giant stroll' and for those who are enthusiastic about walking, an 11 mile, ‘Giant walk'. All three walks which have different start times, will meet at the Giant's Causeway in the afternoon.
Don your walking boots, wrap up warm, grab yourself a healthy bowl of Flahavan's porridge at the start line, and enjoy some of Northern Ireland's most special and stunning headland as collectively we take giant steps towards raising funds for the Giant's Causeway and Causeway Coast World Heritage Site.
