Assistant Brand Manager
Job Type

Full time and permanent

Location
Flahavan's, Kilnagrange, Kilmacthomas, Waterford, Ireland. Opportunity to work remotely two days per week.
The Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a passionate marketing executive to join our brand marketing team on a permanent basis. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating and executing marketing activity plans for our key markets (Ireland, UK & S. Korea) targeting multiple audiences – trade, shopper, consumer and internal.

Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and support in the execution of annual marketing activity plans (ATL, BTL & range) in conjunction with your marketing & innovation team to achieve business & brand targets.
  • Own the activity calendar for the department’s activities (ROI & International), ensuring alignment with sales activation plans and NPD stage gate project timelines
  • Be the team ‘go to’ for our ROI field sales team, briefing activities and supporting with best in class POS and equipment solutions
  • All trade & shopper marketing communications including NPD launch packs, presenters and annual plan presentations
  • Support on wider Marketing team responsibilities e.g., events, award submissions, community management, gift scheme, PO tracking & budget management.
  • Contributes to the internal & external leadership of the brands incl. customer presentations and keeping the brands front of mind for colleagues.
Qualifications & Experience

A minimum of 2 years FMCG marketing activity management experience required and candidates with customer marketing experience preferred.

  • An ambitious junior brand champion with recent success in managing marketing activity in a blue-chip, branded FMCG business
  • A preference for candidates with customer & shopper marketing experience

Senior Brand Manager (Domestic)
Job Type

The Role

This is a significant role in continuing to deliver against our strategic growth plan for our home market through marketing investment and dedicated consumer & shopper marketing plans. Reporting into the Marketing Director, you will work closely with our external marcomms teams and internal innovation and sales teams to devise & implement communication, promotional, portfolio and innovation strategies to increase consumer awareness, consideration and trial of our wide range of Irish retail products (Cereals, Snacks & Oat Drinks).

Responsibilities
  • Develop & deliver the annual brand plan to achieve business & brand targets.
  • Lead out a new brand communications platform in 2024 for the Flahavan’s master brand, to include the development of a suite on new assets (including AV) & an activation plan touching key consumer targets
  • Manage a wide team of collaborators (new marketing activity executive; out of house community executive; marketing & industry partners e.g. advertising, media & research agencies; Bord Bia Client Services)
  • Drive key NPD projects for the domestic market through our Stage Gate process & in conjunction with your innovation & sales team across all segments (Hots, Drinks  & Snacking)
  • Lead range optimisation projects including COGs improvements, renovation,  design & packaging changes for the Flahavan’s portfolio.
  • Leverage consumer research to develop genuine insight & recommendations leading to new growth initiatives (volume, profit, market share and distribution related).
  • Analyse data sources (Nielsen, Dunnhumby, EPOS etc.) to provide insight on brand performance and actions incl. monthly sales & marketing and ad hoc reviews.
  • Manage key consumer & trade events (e.g. Bloom, Catex, Oat Growers)
Qualifications & Experience

A minimum of 6 years FMCG brand management experience required and candidates with both commercial & communications experience strongly preferred.

  • A team player that can work cross-functionally (particularly with the external agencies, sales team, finance & innovation).
  • Can establish consumer & customer insights.
  • Is commercially minded, awareness of a P&L.
  • Prior experience & success in advertising creative development and social media management with a good understanding of performance metrics and ROI for both.

NPD Manager
Job Type

Full time , fixed term (12 month) contract

The Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a passionate an NPD manager to join our Innovation team. Reporting to the Innovation manager, you will support Flahavan’s growth plans to bring the benefits of oats (across a multiple of occasions and applications) to more people on the go, homes, and businesses in Ireland and abroad. The successful candidate will have a proven track record working in a food environment.

 

Responsibilities
  • Drive NPD project delivery through our Stage Gate process.
  • Create new product recipes, make up kitchen samples and present for internal evaluation.
  • Organise and conduct factory trials to bring new products to scale for launch.
  • Prepare recipe cost analysis and identify opportunities for value optimisation.
  • Build technical pack copies aligned with EU and export food legislation.
  • Support the ideation of new innovations in collaboration with internal/external teams.
  • Collaborate with cross functional teams to progress projects from concept to launch as per critical path.
  • Manage product sensory assessments and benchmarking competitive set to build insight and translate findings into action plans.
  • Liaise with ingredient suppliers to assess new ingredients and select suitability for use.
  • Develop packaging innovation expertise driving innovation to meet sustainability targets, operational efficiencies, and consumer needs.
  • Identify and evaluate innovation opportunities that can be delivered within the existing business framework capabilities and opportunities that are a good fit with the brand but may require outsourcing.
  • Support decision making on the best ‘balanced’ innovation path for optimising the business.
  • Identifies new Emerging Trends and Consumer Insights. Uses market research, consumer and customer feedback to determine which ideas have the highest potential in line with our overall business goals.

 

 

Qualifications & Experience
  • Minimum 8-year food industry
  • Sc. Food Technology/Food Science/Nutritional Science or related discipline.
  • Experience in cereal processing technology (desirable)
  • Commercial aptitude and awareness.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • The ability to work on own initiative and be self-organised and disciplined.
  • Project management skills.
